When no one will eat what you made

When no one will eat what you made

Awkward moment of the day: When you make something that you think is delicious, but no one else will touch it.

I have decided to enter a cooking contest through a local radio station called the “Bacon Invitational”. The idea (naturally) is to come up with your best bacon recipe. I created the maple bacon apple pie. I had a slice and found it to be delicious! I brought the rest of the pie into work for other people to try. Not ONE person dared taste it.

Would you try this?

  1. I know how it feels. Sometimes I kick myself and wonder what i was thinking when I concocted that. But other times, there are moments I introduce asian cuisine and people just want to stick what they know and are used to. They didn’t touch and taste it. I’m learning to take this less personal.

But yeah, I would definitely try the maple bacon apple pie. It’s unusual but the saltiness from bacon combined with the sweetness of apple & maple is just like eating prosciutto with rock melon. The french eats it as appetizer and it tastes heavenly. I imagine yours will too. Don’t give up!

    • Thank you for the encouragement! I’m a big fan of my creation! I just wish people here would give it a try! But you’re right. I need to not take it personally 🙂
